Our project will sensitively conserve, repair, and refurbish this historic building, bringing it back into use as a self-catering holiday let. We propose to conserve the built heritage of the cottage to provide a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, self-catering offer that can comfortably sleep up six people and will be graded at 3-star+ or above. All capital work improvements are to be sympathetic to the listed building character, and carried out, wherever possible, in accordance with conservation best practice, set out in the Historic Environment Scotland (HES) Advisory Standards of Conservation and Repair for the Historic Building Environment in Scotland. This is to both ensure best practise and that the cultural significance of the building is not compromised. The work will look to retain as much historic and original fabric as possible by minimising interventions. Indeed, works to the existing fabric will adopt traditional materials, craft skills and construction techniques found in the original building.
