Lot Information

Lot 1

CalMac Ferries Limited (CFL) is seeking a supplier capable of supplying fresh butcher meat and fruit & vegetables within a combined delivery on predefined delivery days across the west coast of Scotland. It should be noted that for logistical reasons some delivery locations have delivery to a port storeroom whilst others will require a timed delivery direct to a vessel stores. Although CalMac shall only accept offers from companies capable of delivering as a combined delivery, CalMac will accept a bid from a group, consortium, joint venture or similar that achieves the same objective. However, any such arrangement shall provide a single point of contact for orders and combined invoicing. Potential suppliers are required to have the necessary equipment available to ensure that the fresh meat is delivered at 5 degree centigrade or lower. Effective separation of produce being delivered and compliance with all relevant food safety regulations is also of the upmost importance to CFL. During CFL's annual vessel overhaul program CFL shall require deliveries to be made to a vessel repair dock. The exact location for each vessel repair dock is not known until the results of the overhaul tender are published. However, historically these have been in locations such as; Greenock; Leith; Aberdeen and Liverpool. During periods of inclement weather vessels may fail to sail resulting in last minute cancellation of a delivery or a need for the delivery to be made to an alternative delivery location. CFL are proud to be the first ferry operator in Scotland to receive Taste our Best accreditation by Visit Scotland. In order to maintain this status CFL require to source fresh quality ingredients and develop our menus whilst ensuring local provenance of key ingredients.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.

Renewal: The contract shall operate for 24 months and will be subject to an extension of up to an additional 24 months.
