Home Care Support for a Young Person
Notice Description
The City of Edinburgh Council are urgently seeking a suitably qualified Care at Home Provider to provide the management of/ and supply of high quality carers to support the home care for a 9 year old who has a diagnosis of Dravet's Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. The young person also has a severe visual impairment and is gastrostomy fed.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The Service shall undertake personal care tasks support as required, which may include, but is not confined to: Personal care support, such as assistance with getting up / going to bed, personal hygiene, bathing, showering, continence management, toileting, dressing, Assistance with food / diet, such as food preparation, peg and spoon feeding. Administration of medication. Assistance with mobility, such as moving and transfer (currently mobile hoist transfers) Actions to ensure that the young person is safe and secure and comfortable. The total weekly care requirement is estimated in the region of 44 hours (although this may be subject to change due to holiday periods, extra support required etc.) for a minimum of 1 year. The contract requirement may be subject to change/extension at the discretion of the City of Edinburgh Council. The local authority will be responsible for the purchase and payment of the 44 hour support, although the family may wish to purchase more hours etc. subject to their requirements. The family will be liable for this extra cost.. Please refer to ESPD, Specification and ITT documents for all detail.

The young girl also has a severe visual impairment and is gastrostomy fed. She lives with her family and 2 dogs in the west of Edinburgh. -
