The devolution of the Forestry Commissions (FC) Central Services (CS) includes the transition of Information Services (IS) to Scotland, England and Forest Research. For Scotland, the management and delivery of information communication technology (ICT) and digital business requirements falls to the Digital Services team in Forest Enterprise Scotland (FES). The digital services target operating model and business model has recommended the FC joins the Scottish Governments shared ICT service 'SCOTS connect' (SCOTS) which offers access to a secure network, through high capacity lines, desktop services and printing facilities. The justification for joining this service was to encourage greater integration and the maintenance of connectivity between the new Division, new Agency and Scottish Government. The Digital Services Target Operating Model and Business Model were approved by the Scottish Forestry and Forestry and Land Scotland project boards.
