The council is seeking to appoint suitable contractors for the treatments and disposal of various waste streams from all of its Household Waste Recylcing Centres

Lot Information

Treatment and Disposal of Gas Bottles (included in the national collection scheme)

This Lot is seeking suitably qualified service providers capable of delivering a service for the treatment of Gas Bottles and Cylinders, which will need collected from Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) and fall within the national collection scheme.

Renewal: The council will reserve the right to extend the contract for a further period of six months.

Treatment and Disposal of Gas Bottles (NOT included in the national collection scheme)

This Lot is seeking suitably qualified service providers capable of delivering a service for the treatment of Gas Bottles and Cylinders, which will need collected from Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) and fall outwith the national collection scheme, (i.e. owner/manufacturer unknown). The following list is not exhaustive, however this could include various sizes of camping gas cylinders, fire extinguishers, soda streams, diving cylinders, helium gas cylinders, acetylene cylinders and calibration gas cylinders.

Renewal: The council will reserve the right to extend the contract for a further period of six months.

Waste oil

This Lot is seeking suitably qualified service providers capable of delivering a service for the collection, treatment and disposal of engine oil from Household

Renewal: The council will reserve the right to extend the contract for a further period of six months.

Treatment and Disposal of Tyres

This Lot is seeking suitably qualified service providers capable of delivering a service for the collection from HWRCs, treatment, recovery, recycling and disposal of tyres, likely to include standard tyres, commercial tyres (steel banded), loose, both agricultural and non-agricultural.

Renewal: The council will reserve the right to extend the contract for a further period of six months.

Mattresses

This Lot is seeking suitably qualified service providers capable of delivering a service for the treatment of mattresses from the Council's HWRCs and bulky uplift collections

Renewal: The council will reserve the right to extend the contract for a further period of six months.

Carpets

This Lot is seeking suitably qualified service providers capable of delivering a service for the treatment of carpets from the Council's HWRCs and bulky uplift collections.

Renewal: The council will reserve the right to extend the contract for a further period of six months.

Treatment of Mixed Rigid Plastics

This Lot is seeking suitably qualified service providers capable of delivering a service for the treatment of mixed rigid plastic materials. These materials are likely to come predominantly from Household Waste Recycling Centres and possibly other Council premises, commercial organisations or operations. There is likely to be a mix of types of plastics in this Lot, including but not limited to plastics from uses such as garden furniture, toys, building materials, car bumpers, plastic parts, large containers and packaging crates. Typical plastic types may include single and mixed polymers. Materials may be sorted and unsorted. Collection of bulked material may be required.n.
