Summary of the contracting process

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is initiating a procurement process for the "Supply of Trackbed Blocks for SPT Subway (fibre reinforced)". This opportunity falls under the railway services industry category and is located in Glasgow, Scotland. Currently in the planning stage, the contract is set for a duration of ten years and seeks a sole supplier for four types of trackbed blocks used in their subway system. Key dates include the publication of a planned procurement notice on 17th December 2018, with documentation available for review, and future notices anticipated by 4th March 2019.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in manufacturing and supplying construction materials, particularly those with experience in railway infrastructure. Given the scope of the ten-year supply contract, firms that can demonstrate compliance with relevant standards and possess capacity for large-scale production and logistics would be particularly well-suited to compete. Interested businesses are encouraged to engage with SPT early to navigate the tendering process effectively.
