Notice Description
Orkney Islands Council has a requirement for a detailed Business Case, the outcome of which must provide a final recommendation for a viable solution to replace the Council's existing waste transfer station (Chinglebraes).

Lot 1
Current waste services have been provided under a joint area waste plan with Shetland published in 2003. However, the plan is coming to an end, and Orkney Islands Council are looking to develop a new waste strategy for the next 30 years and are looking to reduce costs, mitigate future years forecasted increased costs and where viable generate income associated with the collection, resource recovery and final treatment of waste. Orkney Islands Council seeks proposals to provide a detailed Business Case, the outcome of which must provide a final recommendation for a viable solution to replace the Council's existing waste transfer station (Chinglebraes). In arriving at a final solution, the Business Case should provide a detailed and comparative appraisal of a short list of options already arrived at through the Council's Capital Project Appraisal Process and agreed by the Council at the end of September 2018.. The contract duration is for a 9 month duration however, the expected end date is anticipated to be for 6 months with a 3 month contingency period.
