Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is initiating a planned tender for "Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing" to procure essential equipment and kits aimed at enhancing the trisomy screening programme for expectant mothers. This procurement, categorised under the health industry, is based in Edinburgh, UK, with a total estimated value of £400,000. The process is currently in the planning stage, with a contract notice expected to be issued around mid-June 2019. Interested suppliers are encouraged to express their interest in participating in an upcoming supplier presentation scheduled for April 25, 2019, where a maximum of five suppliers will be selected based on their relevant experience.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in healthcare technology, particularly those that provide laboratory equipment, reagents, and associated IT hardware. Companies that can demonstrate prior experience in delivering similar solutions in clinical settings would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging in this procurement can help businesses expand their reach within the public health sector, especially through partnerships with the NHS by providing innovative solutions that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
