Notice Description
The project is seeking to procure equipment and kit which will deliver an evaluative implementation of Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) as a second line screen for the first and second trimester trisomy 21, 13 and 18 screening programme. It aims to provide a better patient experience by improving the diagnostic performance of the screen with the offer of NIPT as a second line screen. This will mean fewer women having a higher chance result, which should mean fewer women having an invasive diagnostic test and reducing the number of procedure-related miscarriages.

Purchase of NIPT Equipment & Kit
The project is seeking to procure equipment and kit which will deliver an evaluative implementation of Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) as a second line screen for the first and second trimester trisomy 21,13 and 18 screening programme. It aims to provide a better patient experience by improving the diagnostic performance of the screening programme with the offer of NIPT as a second line screen. This will mean fewer women having a higher chance result, which should mean fewer women having an invasive diagnostic test and reducing the number of procedure-related miscarriages. The scope of the laboratory solution procurement will be for the provision of a cost effective and sustainable approach to the delivery of laboratory test equipment which will include consumables and reagents, any necessary associated IT network connectivity hardware and software, installation requirements, preventative and breakdown maintenance including replacement parts and on-site and remote technical / service support.. Please note that the Contracting Authority will only be awarding one Lot, depending upon which option (purchase or lease) best fits the procurement strategy and available budget.
