Notice Description
The project is seeking to procure equipment and kit which will deliver an evaluative implementation of Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) as a second line screen for the first and second trimester trisomy 21, 13 and 18 screening programme. It aims to provide a better patient experience by improving the diagnostic performance of the screen with the offer of NIPT as a second line screen. This will mean fewer women having a higher chance result, which should mean fewer women having an invasive diagnostic test and reducing the number of procedure-related miscarriages.

Purchase of NIPT Equipment & Kit

The scope of the laboratory solution procurement will be for the provision of a cost effective and sustainable approach to the delivery of laboratory test equipment which will include consumables and reagents, any necessary associated IT network connectivity hardware and software, installation requirements, preventative and breakdown maintenance including replacement parts and on-site and remote technical / service support.. Please note that the Contracting Authority will only be awarding one Lot, depending upon which option (purchase or lease) best fits the procurement strategy and available budget.

The Contract Notice for the Tender is expected to be issued approximately mid June 2019, when interested parties must make separate application for this by registering on the Public Contracts Scotland -- Tenders website (https://www.publictendersscotland.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk). The Contracting Authority wishes to engage with suppliers of NIPT Equipment and Services prior to ITT issue. This will take place in the form of a supplier presentation which will take place in Edinburgh on 25th April 2019 (exact location to be advised). The Contracting Authority has capacity to meet a total of 5 suppliers for a one hour presentation each. In the event of more than five Suppliers wishing to participate in the Presentation Day, the five that will be allocated one of the slots each will be chosen from those that have submitted evidence of most current experience of delivering such equipment and solutions into a clinical setting. Therefore, when expressing an interest in the Presentation Day, please also include a current list of up to three such installations, stating awarding authority, period of contract, Annual Value and Scope. If you wish to partake in one of these engagement sessions please contact Rebecca Cruickshanks at rcruickshanks@nhs.net no later than Friday 15th February 2019.
