The Council is required to provide an Independent Mobility Assessment Service, as set out in the Scottish Government's Blue Badge Scheme (Scotland) Code of Practice for Local Authorities. The Service is for Blue Badge applicants who do not automatically qualify for the scheme and require their application to be assessed by an Independent Mobility Assessor, who must be a fully qualified Occupational Therapist/ Physiotherapist. Approximately 2,000 applications per annum are referred for assessment, however there can be significant fluctuations in volumes on a month by month basis.. See attached document
