Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is overseeing the procurement titled "Award of Provision of Cloud Infrastructure Engineers", aimed at enhancing the hosting infrastructure for the agency's systems during a transition from IBM to an in-house support model. This procurement activity falls under the professional services category and is based in Edinburgh. The tender period commenced on 18 March 2019 and concluded on 18 September 2019. This award was valued at £72,240 and reflects an effort to develop critical technical capabilities in-house while independent of prior engagements with IBM.

This tender offers a promising opportunity for businesses specialising in cloud infrastructure and IT services, particularly those that can provide interim cloud engineers. Companies that focus on temporary and agency staff, especially with professional expertise in technology, would be well-positioned to compete. Engaging in this procurement can help firms gain experience and build relationships with key government entities, fostering future business opportunities in a growing digital landscape.
