Arbroath (Brothock Water) Flood Protection Scheme
Notice Description
Construction of works to provide flood protection to Arbroath. Works include the construction of 3 flood storage areas and modifications to existing structures to increase protection in the town of Arbroath. Works include construction of, embankments and associated works, bentonite membranes, watercourse realignment, culverts and walls etc. Contractor will be working in and around water in compliance with the SEPA Controls.

Lot 1
A single contractor will be appointed to provide the following: Civil Engineering works which will collectively comprise The Scheme currently being promoted by Angus Council will include the following main elements; -Multiple operations spread across rural and urban locations; -Construction of an upstream flood storage area at Brothock Meadows using embankments and flow controls to retain flood water above the natural ground level; -Construction of a second upstream flood storage area (as above) at St. Vigeans; -Construction of a third flood storage area (embankment only) at Hercules Den; and, -Works along the Brothock Water corridor within the town of Arbroath involving replacement, reconstruction, raising or refurbishment of existing channel walls in a number of discrete locations to increase channel flow capacity.
