Summary of the contracting process

The East Lothian Council has recently completed a procurement process for the "Award of Housing Support for Care Experienced Young People" in East Lothian, Scotland. This initiative, classified under general public services, aimed to provide a housing support service for care-experienced youth over a three-year pilot phase. The open procurement process had bids submitted by potential suppliers until May 13, 2019, with a total contract value of £179,989 awarded to The Rock Trust on June 7, 2019. This project is strategically crucial as it addresses the needs of vulnerable young individuals by facilitating their integration into supported living environments.

This tender opens valuable opportunities for businesses specialising in social services, housing support, and community welfare. Organisations that have experience working with care-experienced youth or possess innovative outreach strategies would be well-suited to compete. Additionally, companies with a strong foundation in social support services, particularly those offering training, mentoring, and emotional support services, may find the potential to expand their offerings through collaboration or subcontracting with larger entities involved in this contract.
