Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is conducting a public procurement process for the "Scottish Air Quality Website and Database" project, which aims to collate and disseminate air quality data from local authorities in Scotland. The procurement is currently in the Award stage, having completed the tender submission phase. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, with a total contract value of £400,000. Key deadlines include the tender period end date of September 4, 2019, and the contract being signed on November 20, 2019. The project is categorised under the services sector and is located in Scotland.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in data management, environmental services, and web development. Companies with strong expertise in air quality monitoring, data analysis, and website creation would be particularly well-suited to compete for future contracts in this area. Notice Title

Scottish Air Quality Website and Database

Notice Description

The Scottish Air Quality Website and Database project (SAQD) has collated air quality data obtained by local authorities and made these widely available via a dedicated website.

Lot Information

Lot 1

The SAQD is a valuable resource for the Scottish Government, local authorities and others with an interest in air quality, and contributes to the development and assessment of air quality policy and legislation in Scotland. It also supports central and local government and SEPA in undertaking their statutory responsibilities in relation to air quality at Scottish, UK and European levels. In addition, the database provides information which allows health professionals to assess, in near real-time, any health effects of, for example, air pollution episodes and, for longer term epidemiological studies. To ensure that the website is as comprehensive as possible, there are also prominent links to other sources of air quality data and information in Scotland such as the SEPA Scottish Pollution Release Inventory and the Low Emission Zones Scotland website. In addition, the website provides information and updates on the Scottish Government's air quality strategy, 'Cleaner Air for Scotland - The Road to a Healthier Future' (CAFS).

Options: There will be an option to extend the contract by 12 months
