Summary of the contracting process

The East Lothian Council has recently completed the procurement process for the "Award of Services for Young People at Risk of Substance Misuse." This project, part of the services industry, was located in East Lothian and involved an open tender procedure. The contract was awarded on 4th October 2019, with an anticipated duration of two years, with options to extend for up to two additional years, depending on satisfactory review and funding availability. The total value of the contract is £278,565. The primary aim is to provide support services for young individuals aged 12-19 in East Lothian, particularly in local high schools, focusing on those at risk of substance misuse.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses in the social services and youth support sectors. Companies with expertise in providing intervention services for young people, particularly those addressing substance misuse and mental health, would be well-suited to engage in future tenders of a similar nature. Given the nature of the services required, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that can demonstrate relevant experience and qualifications are encouraged to consider involvement in future contracts with East Lothian Council, thereby contributing to community well-being while growing their business presence.
