Lot Information
Lot 1
The City of Edinburgh Council's vision is that Edinburgh's children and young people enjoy their childhood and fulfil their potential. Many young people will have been bereaved of someone close to them (a parent, sibling, grandparent, friend, teacher) by the time they are 16. Many will cope well with their loss, but all will need the support of those around them. On top of this, however, some children and young people may need more specialised support and help. The City of Edinburgh Council has purchased a service that delivers therapeutic play/activities for children and young people affected by bereavement for many years. The current contract is in place until March 2020, however we would like to ascertain if there are any other organisations that could deliver such a service. The service would encompass the following elements; - The ability to take referrals from a wide range of partners (both statutory and voluntary sector as well as from families) - The ability to work with children and young people from the age of 5 up to 18 years - The provision of one to one support with children and young people using therapeutic play (Approximately 50 children and young people per year receiving up to 2 sessions) - Provision of training to professional staff in both statutory and voluntary sector (Approximately 10 sessions per year to 80 staff members) - Provision of parental support sessions (To be offered to the parents of children and young people supported under the contract) - Provision of family days (One per year). More information can be found in the PIN Briefing Note.
