Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government has launched the National Safeguarders Panel Management Service tender, which is active and aimed at establishing a contract for the provision of safeguarding services from 2020 to 2024. This service requires an external provider responsible for recruiting and managing Safeguarders who ensure the interests of children are safeguarded during hearings. The tender encompasses services across Scotland, with substantial requirements outlined in the contract notice. The end date for submission was 13th November 2019, and the contract signing occurred on 27th May 2020, with a total contract value of £3,049,000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for organisations involved in social services, particularly those specialising in child welfare and legal services. Businesses that can demonstrate experience in recruitment and management in social care settings would be well-positioned to compete for this contract. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) could benefit from participating, given the open procurement method used, which allows a diverse range of suppliers to submit proposals.
