RESAS/005/19 - Attitude Towards Land Reform: Public Priorities and Focus for the Future
Notice Description
The aim of this research project will be a systematic report, detailing the public's core attitudes to land reform and community engagement, and a much more nuanced understanding of what policy options are likely to meet the public's priorities. The research emerging from these mixed method approaches will: - provide insight on what the public priorities are for land reform and what their understanding of land reform in Scotland is, - offer recommendations for policy on directions for future land reform and what might be done to increase the public's awareness of Scottish land reform.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The research objectives for this project are as follows: - An extensive literature and evidence review on attitudes towards land reform policies. - To use initial findings of the literature review to develop and pilot a nationally representative social attitudes survey across Scotland (with about 1,500 - 2,000 members of the public). The Supplier may suggest whether they would prefer to carry this out via telephone, post, or online, but must explain their decision. - A national survey to be developed and delivered that will cover attitudes towards a range of land reform and community engagement policy ideas. - Once the national survey has been conducted, focus groups will be carried out. The focus groups will test the ideas developed in the earlier stages of the research. The groups will be recruited in a way that they must contain members from different socio-economic backgrounds, gender, age, areas, ethnicities, disabilities and religions are represented. - There will be a literature and evidence review and it must be conducted by the end of March 2020. The order of the other stages is to be determined by the supplier. - Interim reports will be expected for each stage of the research project and should be taken into account when creating the project timetable. - The first draft of the final report is expected at the end of September 2020. - The Supplier will be expected to provide fortnightly updates with the Scottish Government's project manager.
