West Dunbartonshire Council Health & Social Care Partnership (WDC HSCP) is the commissioning and end user Client for the new facility, which is currently under construction within the Queens Quay masterplan zone in Clydebank. The accommodation supports the occupation of 84 elderly residents and 50 day service users, staff and visitors. The furniture being procured are to be of quality with a homely, eclectic feel that meet the technical requirements and supports the delivery of a high standard of care. Each item the residents interact with shall be functional, well designed and support inclusion and diversity of needs. The procurement is for the entire non-clinical furniture of the care home, including furniture for each suite, as well as social spaces. The objective is to provide service users, their relatives and staff with a modern living and working environment which enables the efficient and effective delivery of services facilitated by a more cost effective estate. The residential home has 85 ensuite bedrooms, one being a training room, arranged in 8 flats to promote group living. Construction is due to complete by the end of May 2020 with the new facility planned to be operational by late summer 2020. The loose furniture, fixtures and equipment fit out will take place immediately following possession by WDC HSCP at the earliest opportunity to permit an opportunity for staff familiarisation and final training in the new premises with the complete provision in place.
