Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the refurbishment and internal alterations of Elm Court, Hawick, is being led by Eildon Housing Association, a registered social landlord based in Selkirk, Scotland. This open tender, currently active, seeks to convert existing one-bedroom flats into larger family-sized units and enhance the properties with additional insulation and air-source heat pumps. The tender period ends on 24th February 2020, with the bid opening scheduled for the following day. The total contract value is estimated at £1.2 million, falling within the housing and community amenities industry category.

This opportunity presents significant potential for business growth, particularly for construction firms and contractors specialising in refurbishment and sustainable building practices. Companies equipped to handle large-scale renovation projects, particularly those with experience in energy-efficient upgrades, would be well-positioned to compete in this tender. With the involvement of a central purchasing body, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) should also find a conducive environment to engage in this public procurement process.
