NHS Health Scotland now wishes to commission a study to evaluate the adoption of a whole systems approach to diet and healthy weight, using the three Early Adopter areas. The evaluation will seek to support the development and refinement of a whole system approach to diet and healthy weight at a local level in Scotland. The findings from this study will be used to generate learning for NHS Health Scotland, Scottish Government, partner organisations and others about how to create conditions to best facilitate effective whole systems working focused on diet and healthy weight specifically, and with transferable learning for applying the whole system approach to improving population health more generally. Learning generated from a locality level will be utilised to support local implementation and feedback into the process to review and refine their approach.
