North Ayrshire Council on behalf of North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership require a single provider to deliver a Self Harm Service for children, young people and adults who self harm. The service will also explore the needs of family, carers and professionals in contact with those who self harm.

Lot 1

The Self Harm Service will offer a 3 strand approach across North Ayrshire to support those who self harm ad to develop good practice around this area. The service will have three strands: 1. One to one support in a safe and secure environment within North Ayrshire for anyone aged 11 years and over. 2. Self harm awareness raising workshops for health and social care workers/teams, families and other as appropriate. 3. The provision of information and expertise in developing self harm management strategies; good practice and bespoke tools and resource for a range of workplaces/teams and pathways to further training. There will be flexibility of time and resources between each strand dependant on need. The objectives of the service are: - To provide one to one support directly to those who are self harming and support them to minimise risk, manage their self harm and develop alternative coping mechanisms. - To raise awareness of the issues for anyone who might come into contact with someone who self harms and to enable them to understand and support individuals more effectively. - To identify and enable access to further training needs for teams and individuals. - To provide, through expertise, appropriate and practical workplace strategies which can be put in place and provide a consistent and safe approach to dealing with self harm which minimises risk. By providing appropriate and sustainable levels of support for individuals to manage and reduce their self harming behaviour and at the same time providing awareness and understanding of the issues and management of self harm, it is hoped that fewer people will increase their pattern of self harm and therefore reduce the risk of suicide. The duration of this service will be upto 4 years. The overall budget for this procurement will be upto 120,000 GBP evenly spread over each year..
