Summary of the contracting process

Angus Council has initiated the "Housing Response and Void Repairs Term Contract 2021-2024," aimed at delivering 24-hour per day response repairs and preparing vacant properties for re-letting across Angus, UK. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, with an estimated value of £20 million over five years. The deadline for bids ended on 24th August 2020, and the procurement method employed is a selective procedure. Interested parties should have experience in the housing and community amenities sector, aligned with the contract’s focus on providing essential repairs and maintenance services.

This contract presents significant opportunities for construction and maintenance businesses, especially those specialising in housing repairs and associated services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) could particularly benefit given that the contract encourages collaborative projects and allows for subcontracting. Firms with expertise in quality repair services, including plumbing, electrical works, and general maintenance, are well-suited to compete. Furthermore, companies equipped to meet the requirements of the Right to Repair Scheme and those familiar with regulatory compliance in Scotland will have a competitive edge in this tender.
