Summary of the contracting process

The public procurement process, initiated by Abellio ScotRail Ltd, concerns the tender for "Psychological Services". This service aims to provide focused psychological support for ScotRail employees and falls within the health industry category, specifically addressing mental well-being. The tender is currently active, with a deadline for submissions set for 31st July 2020. The procurement method used is selective, following a restricted procedure, with service delivery expected primarily in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The contract period is planned to commence from 1st September 2020 and conclude by 31st March 2022, with potential for annual extensions.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in psychological services and mental health support. Companies that can demonstrate experience through two relevant case studies, delivering comparable services on a similar scale, will be well-positioned to compete. Vendors should ideally showcase capabilities in comprehensive assessments, structured treatment plans, and a range of evidence-based interventions. Additionally, the ability to provide both on-site and off-site support for mental well-being is crucial, making this a fitting opportunity for established mental health professionals and service providers in the healthcare industry.

ScotRail provides over 94 million passenger journeys each year, with over 2,300 intercity, regional and suburban rail services a day, more than 340 stations, 5000 employees, and just under 800 trains serving Scotland's railway. The ScotRail network is vital to Scotland's communities, and to the country's booming tourist industry.
