Summary of the contracting process

Renfrewshire Council is managing the procurement process for the "Refurbishment and Installation of the Junction Situated at Renfrew Road and Netherhill Road" in Paisley, UK. This project, classified under the works category, aims to enhance traffic flow by creating an additional northbound right turn lane and improving pedestrian facilities at the junction. The tender was initiated on 11 September 2020, with a deadline for submissions set for 25 September 2020. The procurement follows an open procedure, allowing any eligible contractors to participate.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in civil engineering, construction, and traffic management sectors to expand their service offerings. Companies that possess expertise in road refurbishment, traffic signal installation, and drainage systems will be well-suited for competition. Furthermore, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have a competitive edge, as evidenced by the two SME bids that were submitted. Engagement in this project not only allows for direct revenue generation but also positions contractors favourably within the local government contracting landscape.
