Procurement Information
Ferguson Marine (Port Glasgow) is required to maintain insurance to protect against hull construction risks, and insurance for an extended time period is required. Ferguson Marine could not have foreseen a combination of events whereby there was a significant change in the marine insurance sector at a time that the additional cover was required by the business, resulting in a position where the business had an urgent requirement to seek alternative cover with insufficient time for a full competitive process, given the amount of time it would have taken to provide full and comprehensive information to potential insurers, fulfilling the requirement to "make a fair presentation of the risk", as is required by the Insurance Act 2015.
