Moray Council requires residential/nursing care 24/7 in a locked door provision for a 42 year old male. This PIN is being used to seek interest in accommodating the individual/establish any providers who are able to meet the specific requirements detailed further on.

Background: Moray Council requires residential/nursing care 24/7 in a locked door provision for a 42 year old male. This PIN is being used to seek interest in accommodating the individual/establish any providers who are able to meet the specific requirements as below. This is a permanent placement, required as soon as possible. Moray Council invites expressions of interest from providers by 23rd Oct 2020. Requirements: It will be the service provider's responsibility to meet the following specific requirements to meet the personal outcomes of the service user. The provider and staff must: - Provide 24 hour residential nursing care - Have a person centred and Human Rights based approach - Have experience, and are trained and skilled, in providing support for those who have both an acquired brain injury and bi polar affective disorder - Be able to implement guidelines developed by health professionals such as eating and drinking, communication, activities and medication. - Be able to respond sensitively to complex needs, diversion, relocation and provide, at times, hands on support - Provide supervision when undertaking all tasks and activities including when outdoors - Be aware that the person may invade other people' space - Be aware that the person may make inappropriate comments to others which may be of a sexual nature - Know that the person can misidentify people and think they are family members - Support the person to ensure over familiarity with others is reduced - Be able to know where the person is at all times and use telecare and assistive technologies where assessed and deemed appropriate - Be able to respond to all personal care needs sensitively. My Best Day: My best day would be for me to have an established routine for me to follow, a visit from my parents. I would have rest breaks built into my daily routine I would be supported to go out for a walk and perhaps spend some time tinkering with a bike. My support staff would ensure that I didn't have access to food stuffs that cause me to choke. I would be supported to bake and make my own hot drink but again be supervised by supporting staff. I would enjoy a film in my room and enjoy my own company.
