Notice Description

Tenderers are invited for the provision of Principal Contractor to provide Design and Build (D&B) services for the delivery of the Cleat Road End housing development in Cuithir on the Isle of Barra. HHP require suitably qualified and experienced contractors to provide Design and Build (D&B) services for the delivery of the Cleat Road End Development, Isle of Barra. The contractor's design and build proposal must include for 2 number HHP standard house type 11 (2 Bed 4 Person single storey house) and 4 number HHP standard house type 1C (3 bed 5 person single storey house), together with associated car parking, street lighting, infrastructure, utilities, site services, access roads, footpaths, site works, landscaping, and all other development costs, including statutory and professional fees. The site layout should allow for the full capacity of the site (12 houses) to be developed at a later date. Standard house type superstructure drawings are provided as part of the tendering package. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to design appropriate substructures to suit each house type, to adjust for orientation where required and to design the site layout. Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site to ascertain local site conditions, influences and management/delivery issues. No claims for lack of such knowledge will be considered. Submissions will not be assessed or scored if they do not comply with the contract requirement for the standard HHP house types noted previously.

Tender proposals will be evaluated on a Quality (40%) / Price (60%) basis. The Quality element of the submission will be appraised using the minimum evaluation criteria and weighted scores as described in the Invitation to Tender. Proposals will be assessed based solely on the information provided by the Contractor. Contractors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the information they provide. Submissions will not be assessed or scored if they do not comply with the contract requirement for the standard HHP house types noted previously in this document. Contractors should note that, notwithstanding the results of the Quality/Price evaluation, the appointment of a contractor may be subject to checks against HHP's risk register. where deemed necessary by HHP.
