Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which is seeking to appoint a Community Engagement and Activities Coordinator to enhance local networking activities aimed at alleviating loneliness and social isolation among older residents in Glasgow. This open tender, titled "GGC0665 Community Engagement & Activities Co-ordinator," is currently at the award stage, following a completed tender process. The relevant deadline for bid submissions was on 9th March 2021, and the contract was signed on 7th April 2021, with an awarded value of £125,000. The buying organisation is based in Glasgow at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

This tender presents significant business opportunities for organisations specialising in community services, particularly those with experience in social care or engagement activities. Companies equipped to demonstrate successful track records in reducing social isolation or improving community well-being will be well-positioned to compete. As the contract requires flexibility in working hours and adherence to specific legal obligations such as the Real Living Wage and employee safety regulations, firms that can comply with these conditions and show an understanding of the needs within vulnerable communities will enhance their competitiveness in this procurement process.
