Summary of the contracting process

Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is initiating the procurement of the "Energy Market Regulatory Advice Contract," focusing on services within the energy sector in North Scotland. This open tender is currently active, with a submission deadline of 8 March 2021 at 12:00 PM. The contract is anticipated to last for an initial period of two years, with an estimated budget ranging from £65,000 to £80,000 (excluding VAT). Bidders are required to submit their proposals electronically, and the procurement process allows for the potential extension of the contract for an additional year.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for consultancy firms with expertise in the UK electricity market, particularly those familiar with regulatory issues affecting the Highlands and Islands region. Businesses that specialise in energy policy, regulatory compliance, or economic consultancy would be well-suited to compete in this process. As the procurement follows an open procedure, it encourages wider participation from qualified candidates, allowing them to contribute to the development of energy solutions that benefit the local industry.
