Laboratory research reflects the University of Dundee testing samples of items / materials provided by SPS to allow the identification of drug substances and new substances which have been introduced into prisons. This supports the SPS's own machine based drug detection activity by providing secondary testing and allows the parties to improve the operational capability of the drug detection machines.
