Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is currently engaged in the procurement of General Textiles and Bedding (tender ID: NP787), with a total valued at £11,200,000. The initiative, falling under the goods category, aims to supply a comprehensive range of textiles including patient garments, scrub suits, and bedding to NHS Health Boards across Scotland, chiefly targeting around 10 key delivery sites. The procurement method used is an open procedure, and the tender submission period concluded on 10 May 2021, with contract awards having been signed shortly thereafter on 24 June 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in textile manufacturing and supply, particularly those capable of meeting the diverse needs of the NHS. Companies specialising in the production of hospital garments, bedding, and linen products would be well-positioned to compete, especially large-scale suppliers that can handle substantial delivery commitments. The engaged business must be capable of ensuring consistency in quality and reliability to cater to the extensive demands of NHS Scotland, accentuating the potential for long-term partnerships and community benefits associated with public sector contracts.
