Pilot Services for Historic Environment Scotland
Notice Description
Pilot Services to Historic Environment Scotland
Lot Information
Lot 1
Provide pilot services for Historic Environment Scotland. HES has a programme of aerial reconnaissance and photography, averaging about 100 hours per annum, extending across the whole of Scotland. Flying is spread throughout the year, but concentrates in the period from April to September, and is arranged ad hoc as weather conditions allow and demands of projects dictate. We require an experienced Commercial Pilot with appropriate expertise to fly our leased aircraft. Good availability is required, together with a flexible approach to working long days (up to 7 hours flying in a day) and ready access to our base airport (currently Fife). The pilot will be expected to fulfil a de facto role as Chief Pilot, with responsibility for maintaining awareness of changing factors that may impact our operation. The pilot must have in excess of 1000 hours on type, good experience of flying high-wing aircraft (e.g. C172) in Scotland, including the issues of winter and mountain flying, as well as previous experience piloting aerial photographic details.
