Award of Cloud Infrastructure Test Manager
Notice Description
1 x Cloud Infrastructure Test Manager based in Glasgow. Home working during COVID-19 crisis.This hands-on test management role will focus on infrastructure testing and have access to a small number of test engineers from the DevOps pool. Test management is likely to focus on manual testing initially but success will require a quick shift of focus to test automation and alerting of failures. Main activities as follows:* Liaise with stakeholders to create a risk-based infrastructure testing approach (aligned to the Programme Test Strategy), test plans and schedules for each service release, and identify resources required.* Provide specifications for technical test and OAT environments, liaising with the relevant infrastructure and environments teams.* Ensure a standardised approach to test preparation and execution of all infrastructure testing across the programme, and manage this through to completion for each release.* Liaise with Solutions Architects on availability and resilience testing requirements for planned infrastructure upgrades/deployments.* Ensure that appropriate infrastructure security/access testing is completed as required for changes/upgrades to the infrastructure architecture (e.g. testing of DevOps access rights, AD permissions testing, etc).* Provide detailed analysis of infrastructure testing results and make improvement recommendations.* Assess and provide recommendations on appropriate tooling (e.g. infrastructure monitors) to meet the needs of the Programme.* Report progress, risks, issues and dependencies, escalating as appropriate.
