Notice Description

Introduction North Ayrshire Council ("NAC") are looking to notify the market of this future contract opportunity. The procurement exercise will be carried out via Public Contract Scotland-Tender. It will be published on Public Contract Scotland-Tender week commencing 3rd May 2021. NAC welcomes expressions of interest from service providers, by completing the questionnaire and returning to murraythompson@north-ayrshire.gov.uk before close of business Friday 30th April 2021. Background North, South and East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnerships are jointly commissioning a specialist, therapeutic service for children under 13 years of age who are experiencing or have previously experienced child sexual abuse and/or exploitation. This is a new service and although there are difficulties in establishing an estimate of the number of children affected, statistics indicate that instances for age groups under 13 years old are significantly increasing. Whole family recovery is recommended and it is important that non-abusive family members have access to support themselves and are involved in the process of recovery for their children. Estimated Total Resources The pilot will run for 12 months and will inform future commissioning. Budget has been allocated as follows: - South Ayrshire GBP 10,000 East Ayrshire GBP 10,000 North Ayrshire GBP 20,000 Total GBP 40,000 Timescales NAC hope to appoint a service provider at the end of May/beginning June 2021. The contract duration is 12 months. This is a 1-year pilot, and NAC may move to a longer duration contract next time around. Place of Performance The service will be delivered within the communities of North, South and East Ayrshire. Flexibility in location of service delivery will be required taking into account individual circumstances. Additional Information Staff Training and Supervision Staff must be trained to work with children under 13 years old and who have experienced traumatic events. Therapists must be appropriately qualified and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council or equivalent. For example, play therapist must be registered with the British Association of Play Therapy Training; drama therapist must be registered with the British Association of Drama Therapists; music therapists must be registered with the British Association of Music Therapy. Clinical supervision is an essential part of working therapeutically with clients. Therefore, there is a requirement for therapists to receive regular supervision which for many is a minimum of one and a half hours a month from a clinical supervisor. Procurement Procedure Taking into account the available budget this procurement will be conducted as a Quick Quote.
