THE COMMON SERVICES AGENCY (MORE COMMONLY KNOWN AS NHS NATIONAL SERVICES SCOTLAND) ("NSS")

This public procurement record has 2 releases in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Common Services Agency, known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), which is situated in Edinburgh, UK. The tender, titled "Workforce Specialist Services," falls under the health sector and is currently at the Award stage. This contract had an initial duration of ten months, commencing on 1st December 2021, with potential extensions available for up to 24 months. The procurement was conducted through a limited process, meaning it was awarded without prior publication of a call for competition, based on the belief that only one provider could meet the requirements.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses that specialise in providing workforce health services, particularly those with expertise in mental health and addiction treatments. Firms that can demonstrate a capability to deliver confidential assessment and treatment services for regulated health and social care workers would be particularly well-suited to compete. The work is focused on addressing the mental health needs of practitioners often reluctant to seek help, thus demanding a provider with a holistic and sensitive approach to health care services.
