Orkney Islands Council has a requirement for a practical, pragmatic and independent person / company to be the Designated Person, as specified within the Port Marine Safety Code published by Department of Transport in November 2016.

Orkney Islands Council is the Statutory and Competent Harbour Authority for the Local Authority ports of Scapa Flow, Kirkwall and additional ferry terminals / piers within the Orkney Islands group. Orkney Islands Council has a requirement for an independent person / company to be the Designated Person function for the Port Marine Safety Code and associated marine Safety Management System (mSMS) in place at present.

Renewal: A further two x 12 month extension periods (subject to satisfactory performance).
