NHS HIGHLAND

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

NHS Highland is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process aimed at sourcing an Addiction Counselling Service for Adults. This service is specifically targeted at individuals aged 16 and over residing in Highland, excluding Argyll and Bute. Key dates include a deadline for suppliers to express their interest by 5pm on 24 September 2021, with a planned publication date for the contract notice set for 10 September 2021. The procurement falls within the health industry category and is part of a broader strategy to enhance addiction counselling services in the region.

This upcoming tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those with expertise in addiction counselling and support. Providers with counsellors holding recognised qualifications, such as a Diploma in Counselling, will be well-suited to compete. Those who can offer flexible delivery methods, including digital options, will be particularly advantageous, as the focus is on accommodating the individual needs of clients and their families across a diverse and potentially remote geographical area.

Notice Title

Addiction Counselling Service for Adults

Notice Description

Provision of addiction counselling services for adults in Highland (excluding Argyll and Bute)

Lot Information

Lot 1

NHS Highland is reviewing its current contractual arrangements, which are due to end during 2022, for the provision of counselling services for any adult (16 and over), living in Highland (excluding Argyll and Bute), who is concerned about their use of substances (drugs and/or alcohol). The Health Board is looking to determine potential market availability for delivery of addiction counselling services. The service would require to be delivered by counsellors who have a certified counselling qualification (for example Diploma in Counselling or Scottish Alcohol Counselling Consortium Advanced Alcohol qualification, validated by COSCA, or equivalent) or are working towards gaining a qualification under supervision. The focus of the service would be on whole family approaches, delivered in a variety of ways (including digital and/or face to face) according to the needs and preferences of individuals requiring services and the relatives/loved ones of those individuals; and reflecting local and geographical differences across the area i.e. including in remote and rural areas. NHS Highland is keen to receive notes of interest from suppliers who may be interested in delivering these services by 5pm on 24 September 2021. Suppliers that note an interest in this notice may be contacted for market research purposes prior to any future procurement publication. Please note that this Prior Information Notice is not an invitation to tender, nor is it a formal stage in a procurement process. It is being used as a means to determine market availability.. Please note - II.3) Estimated date of publication of contract notice has been entered as 10/09/2021 to meet the PCS form requirements only and does not indicate planned timescales for any subsequent tender.
