THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The City of Edinburgh Council is undertaking a planned procurement process titled "Homebased Support Re-design" in the health and social care sector. This tender aims to revise the original Public Information Notice (PIN) to encompass all adult home-based support services, rather than focusing solely on older adults. The initiative follows significant market engagement and consultation with service providers. The planned procurement is currently listed as in the planning stage, with a future notice date set for 4th April 2022. The process does not involve a Call for Competition at this stage, and interested parties are encouraged to participate in a market event for more details.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those providing home-based support for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or physical disabilities. Companies experienced in delivering diverse support services to younger adults aged under 65 would be especially well-suited to compete. Engaging with this procurement could lead to fruitful collaborations with the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnerships, thereby fostering business growth in the sector.

Notice Title

Homebased Support Re-design

Notice Description

This is an update to the PIN which was published on 28th October 2020 from Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnerships (EHSCP). Following a significant period of engagement and consultation, with the providers who noted their interest in the original PIN, we are today informing the market of our intent to revise the scope of the original PIN to include all adult homebased support and not just older adults as was originally proposed. This is in acknowledgement that existing "care at home" providers in Edinburgh already support a wider group of people - approximately 25% of people supported by "care at home" providers are under the age of 65 years with a range of support needs linked to Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and/or Physical Disabilities and not to old age and frailty.
