Notice Description

Aberdeen City Council is currently investigating options for the procurement of a contract to carry out scour protection work at Bridge of Dee. As part of this process the Council is inviting suppliers to provide information requested in the attached "Request for Information" RFI document The proposal is to repair/replace the existing aprons to the north embankment and piers 1 to 4 and place rock armour on the riverbed over an area extending 21m upstream and downstream of the bridge.

Lot 1

The A92 Bridge of Dee has been assessed for susceptibility to scour and it has been found that several piers and the north abutment require protection against future fluvial scour. The bridge is a designated a 'Category A' listed structure. The proposal is to repair/replace the existing aprons to the north embankment and piers 1 to 4 and place rock armour on the riverbed over an area extending 21m upstream and downstream of the bridge. The proposed works comprises of Partial demolition and repair/replacement of the existing aprons,Supply and installation of filter layer,Supply and installation of rock armour. Further details are provided in the attached RFI document and drawings.
