The way that you can bid for South Lanarkshire contracts has changed! If you're in construction and want to do business with South Lanarkshire Council, you need to understand its new Quick Quote Process. The process has been improved to make it easier for local businesses to tender for the council's contracts. Under new arrangements for the simplified procurement process, more quotes will be sought from South Lanarkshire-based businesses, and the size of the contracts that are available could be as much as 2m GDP. This change in process adjusts the terms of what is known as a 'Quick Quote'. Quick Quotes previously covered contracts worth up to 50,000 GDP and required two out of five bidders to be local SMEs. A change to the council's Standing Orders means that four out of five bids should be from local SMEs, while contracts of up to 2m can be awarded for construction and other works. At the moment, the limit for goods and services still remains at 50,000 GDP. Other procurement routes will also continue to be used. South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) works with the Supplier Development Programme to support SMEs and remove barriers to tendering. It is the Council's aim is to raise awareness and inform local businesses, to encourage and support them to understand the tender process to bid for their contracts. During the webinar you will hear from South Lanarkshire Council Procurement staff about what the changes mean for your business. There will be a session from one of SDP's expert trainers on how to register with Public Contract Scotland (PCS). This event is open to all, but South Lanarkshire Council is particularly keen to speak SMEs based in the South Lanarkshire area. This workshop with the Supplier Development Programme is one of a series of events that are being organised by North and South Lanarkshire Councils and Business Gateway Lanarkshire during February 2022 to support local businesses in the construction sector. AGENDA - Introduction from SDP - Welcome from South Lanarkshire Council - Overview of the updated processes - Importance of registering on PCS - Q&A - Next steps / Session Closes How to prepare for this Event You can attend the webinar from the comfort of your own desk - the joining instructions and Cisco WebEx link are contained within the confirmation email received at time of booking, and also within the reminder emails.
