Notice Description

The University of Strathclyde on behalf of the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS) seeks to secure a single suitably qualified supplier to Supply, deliver, install and commission a large robot cell and a small suite of collaborative robots on site at the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC).

Industrial automation is an ever-growing sector and one which NMIS is actively involved in. In order to deliver on NMIS projects, the group seeks to acquire an industrial robot. This robot must have sufficient capabilities to deliver on current projects, as well as any future projects. The University require a single suitably qualified and experienced supplier to supply and deliver the equipment as per the specification. The supplier will be required to fulfil the non-exhaustive list as detailed within the specification: -The equipment must be able to support 120 kg at least 300 mm away from the equipment flange, in all three principle orthoganal directions. -The offered equipment must have a rated payload capacity of between 120 kg and 150 kg. -The equipment must have a reach of at least 3 m. -The equipment must have an IP rating of at least IP65 as standard on both the body and the wrist. -The equipment controller must be able to support at least 8 axes without additional controller cabinets. -Offered solution must be delivered to the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) by the Successful Tenderer. To review the full specification of the requirement, suppliers shall access the ITT detailed in the PCS-Tender project highlighted in the Contract Notice.. The budget for this project is 165,000 GBP (+VAT). Any bids that are received over 175,000 GBP (+VAT) will automatically be rejected.

Options: The Contracting Authority reserves the right to request additional deliveries by the successful Tenderer, either intended as partial replacement of supplies or installations or as extensions of existing supplies and installations. The Contracting Authority may at it's sole discretion exercise this option.
