In accordance with the terms of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 Section 17J (as amended), initial expressions of interest, from suitably qualified parties*, are hereby requested for the provision of Primary Medical Services through a General Medical Services contract in Alford Medical Practice, Aberdeenshire. Initial expressions of interest, without obligation, should be submitted in writing no later than 12 noon, Tuesday 8th March 2022 and sent to moyra.duncan@nhs.scot. (*interested parties require to comply with the relevant terms of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978, as amended, including & specifically Section 17L). This is a significant opportunity for an interested party to hold a General Medical Services Contract for an established registered population of 5808, with 22% of that population over 65 years old. The area covered by the practice is rural and extensive including the communities of Alford, Sauchen, Monymusk, Keig, Lumsden, Kildrummy, Glenkindie, Muir of Fowlis and their surrounding areas. There is very limited cross over with any other practice. A map of the Practice boundary is attached as Appendix A (please see attached Document). The detailed contractual requirements will be reflective of The National Health Services (General Medical Services Contracts) (Scotland) Act 2004, as amended. The successful contractor will be expected to deliver the full range of core general medical, additional, and enhanced services, currently offered. Innovative approaches which support long term service sustainability in the area will be considered favourably. The ownership of the premises is being looked at and may be transferred to NHS Grampian.
