This public procurement record has 2 releases in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for Workforce Specialist Services was initiated by NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), located in Edinburgh, UK. This contract falls under the health sector and was awarded using a limited procurement method, without prior publication of a call for competition due to the belief that only one provider could meet the requirements. The contract is valued at £4,800,000 and was signed on 13th June 2022. The service is expected to run for an initial period of 12 months, starting from 6th April 2022, with the possibility of extending for up to a further 24 months.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in mental health services, particularly those with a focus on addiction and rehabilitation support for regulated professionals. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can demonstrate expertise in providing confidential assessment and treatment services to health and social care workers would be well-suited to compete. The awarded contract currently engages Hurley Group and signals a need for scalable services in addressing the mental health challenges faced by the Scottish workforce.
