Notice Description

Background & Context3. The Council will meet next on 13 June 2022 and will initiate a project using scenario modelling and horizon scanning approaches to examine the question: In 2045 we will be living in a net zero Scotland with other policy objectives also achieved (e.g. thriving biodiversity) - what will our landscapes and seascapes look like and how will they be managed in 2045?What will Scotland's landscapes and seas look like if we take no transformative action, and what if we take various courses of action? What are the transformative changes needed to reach this end point and what are the interdependencies, linkages and consequences? What are the implications for Scotland's communities?4. By developing scenarios of potential future 'endpoints' (i.e. 2045), including on rural economy, Council can help inform Government of the varied routes for change, and the opportunities and challenges different courses of change will bring.
