Provision of a Research and Interpretation Project - Industrial Heritage of the North Isles
Notice Description
The North Isles Landscape Partnership Scheme (NILPS) has funding to deliver a research and interpretation project focusing on the industrial heritage of the North Isles of Orkney.
Lot Information
Lot 1
NILPS is a 5-year, 4.5 GBP million project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), Historic Environment Scotland, Orkney Island Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). The aim of the scheme is to promote the North Isles natural, built and cultural heritage, through providing funding for a range of physical improvements, conservation and landscape projects, training, interpretation and educational projects. The research undertaken will form the basis for creative interpretation that tells the ongoing story of industrial heritage across the North Isles. The interpretive output may include digital and/or physical elements but should be easily accessible to all and available in Isles Heritage Centres where possible. The sites included in interpretation may form a visitor trail of places to view across the isles.
