Notice Description

South Lanarkshire Council have a requirement to undertake a Negotiated procedure under standing Order 9 of the Council's Standing Orders on Contracts for the provision of "Beat the Street". The Beat the Street programme is based on a community-wide initiative, activity trackers and social prescriptions empowering behavioural change across all levels of the community, particularly in children, at school and at home. The game itself is an evidence-based programme, using smartcard and on-line technology to create walking and cycling competitions, designed to increase the physical activity level of all participants, who earn points as they walk, cycle, and run as part of their daily, regular short journeys. The award of this contract under the Negotiated Tendering Procedure can be justified under Regulation 33 (1) (b) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 and Standing Order 9.3.1 (b) of the Council's Standing Orders on Contracts for the following reason: - The services can be supplied by only one suitable provider because competition is absent for technical reasons. The contract will be for a period of 1 year from July 2022 - 31 July 2023.
