North Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership (NAHSCP) are seeking a dynamic and creative organisation to help build and deliver key advice, information, and support for young and adult unpaid carers in all North Ayrshire localities (Irvine & Kilwinning, Three Towns, Garnock Valley, North Coast and Millport, and the Isle of Arran). The provision of information and support to unpaid carers is a legislative requirement for the Health & Social Care Partnership. The Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 places statutory duties on the Local Authority & NHS Board. The Act gives carers new rights, promotes early information, involvement, and prevention as pivotal to support, and seeks to improve the wellbeing of unpaid carers. The Local Authority, with support, will take steps to involve, inform and support carers to make caring more sustainable for those who are willing and able to do so. The current contract is due to expire on 30/06/23 therefore this requirement is being retendered.

The service should broadly provide the following information, support and activities under this agreement and lead on the delivery of early and effective services for carers in North Ayrshire. - Provision of current local and national carer advice, information, resources and activities on all issues relating to carers and the caring role. - Signposting and connecting carers to universal services, other statutory partners, third sector and voluntary services, community networks, circles of interest or local groups/ activities. - Promotion of the Carers Charter and be representative of carers rights and issues. - Continuous and effective carer involvement in personal and service planning/ decision making. - Actively identify and assist those carers who are marginalised or harder to reach across all North Ayrshire communities. - Facilitate, create or participate in community-based carer peer development/ support groups. - Practical support through the offer and preparation of an Adult Carer Support Plan (ACSP) or Young Carer Statement (YCS) and arranging of support to meet needs. - Practical support through a programme of awareness and training opportunities relating to the caring role for carers and partner agencies. - Practical support to access financial support and entitlements. - Practical support to access, offer, arrange and resource vital breaks from caring. - Practical support for carers seeking to maintain or gain education and employment whilst continuing their caring role. - Practical support for residential care, palliative, end of life and/ or bereaved carers in line with Terminal Illness Regulations . Services will be available by telephone, online/ virtual, face to face on an individual basis or in group settings, in home visits and community venues. The contract terms that shall apply are NAC Conditions of Contract for Health and Social Care Services
