NP803/22 Recyclates and General Waste Management
Notice Description
Contractors will be required to collect, recycle, recover, reuse and dispose of waste from the participating authorities estate under the following waste streams: 1. Residual 2. DMR (Dry Mixed Recycling) 3. Confidential wastepaper 4. Cardboard 5. Glass 6. Construction Waste 7. Food Waste 8. Green Waste 9. Textiles 10. Metals 11. WEEE, florescent tubing, batteries, and lead batteries with each of these collected in separate containers. 12. Plastics and high-grade non-infectious plastics from health care i.e., all non DMR plastics collected in one process. 13. Non-clinical hazardous waste and chemical waste from laboratories could be combined. 14. Bulky waste with including mattresses and furniture Note Waste to be disposed of across the waste bundles may include items containing persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and these will need to be processed in line with relevant legislation. Contractors will need to have SEPA (or equivalent) licencing for the sites/facilities to which waste material will be sent and meet minimum standards to be defined in the ITT. Contractors will also require the appropriate waste carrier licences/permits. Copies will be requested as part of the tender process. Contractors will be required to provide accurate waste data for all waste bundles and upload this data into our waste data portal currently Rio. Please note lotting structure is indicative and subject to change for the ITT. Expected ITT release date June 2023
