Notice Description

The Scottish Government's Cleaner Air for Scotland 2 strategy was published in July 2021, setting out a series of actions intended to deliver further air quality improvements over the period to 2026. One of these actions is to assess the evidence on health impacts of low level pollution in countries with levels of ambient air pollution comparable to Scotland. The requirement is to review the evidence relating to the scale of health effects associated with low level pollution in countries with levels of ambient air pollution comparable to Scotland. The review will need to be sufficiently extensive to understand possible reasons for the variation in findings between Scottish studies and studies in countries with similar levels of air pollution to Scotland, in relation to the association of air pollution with cardiovascular disease. Also required is an analysis of factors that might contribute to the variation in findings.
