Notice Description

Dumfries and Galloway Council are seeking offers from suitable service providers to undertake the treatment and recycling, recovery, or disposal of Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) Outputs.

Lot Information

MBT Plant Dust

This lot will provide treatment and disposal of MBT Plant Dust: This output from the MBT is the fine organic dust from the MBT plant's dust extraction system. Delivered to the Service Provider by the Council in roll-on roll-off skips. The dust material will be contained in 'elephant' bags within the skip. (EWC 19 12 12)

Renewal: The contract will operate for an initial 18-month period with an option to extend for a further 12-month period.

MBT Plant Belt Sweepings and General Waste

This lot will provide treatment and disposal of materials of MBT Plant Belt Sweepings and General Waste: This output from the MBT is the overspill from some of the transport belts in the refinements section of the MBT plant. It is predominantly dusty material with some RDF/SRF within it. There will also be general waste not desirable for recirculation through the MBT, such as used transport belts following maintenance, old 'elephant' bags, etc. Delivered to the Service Provider by the Council in roll-on roll-off skips. MBT Plant Fines

This lot will provide treatment and disposal of materials of MBT Plant Fines: This output from the MBT is the fine organic material smaller than 8mm. It also contains sub 8mm fractions of plastic and glass. Delivered to the Service Provider by the Council, loose, in articulated walking floor vehicles. (EWC 19 12 12)

Renewal: The contract will operate for an initial 18 month period with an option to extend for a further 12-month period.

MBT Plant Ferrous Metals

This lot will provide treatment and disposal of materials of MBT Plant Ferrous Metals: This output from the MBT plant is ferrous metal extracted from the mixed waste stream as part of the plant's refinement operation. This material is heavily contaminated with mixed waste. It has been shredded twice by the point of extraction. Provision of a 40-cubic yard open roll-on roll-off skip is required and collection from the MBT site by the winning bidder. (EWC 19 12 12)
